We can all look back on our past and tell that we have grown because we are either further than we last checked or more proficient at a task. But when in the trenches and embracing the suck, (consciously or subconsciously), are you grateful for your growth? In order to succeed in life you have to be grateful for growth. It's not always easy to do so in the moment, especially when more convenient comforts of stagnation erodes at your highest of ambitions. Often times human nature and many societal influences help us to focus on the negative and all the ways that we can fail.Thinking on "What if I fail?!?", my simple reply is, "What if you succeed!?!" The growth mindset is making the small changes and steps forwards over a great amount of time where progress becomes self-evident. The key to growth is consistency over time.
Don't get it twisted, this is something I struggle with on a daily basis and you never "arrive" to a point and never have to put in an effort; it takes daily effort to grow. I remain optimistic about my growth because even at my lowest points, I have the capacity to shift and adapt through conscious effort. Everyday I move forward, even if that means stumbling or falling down in the process of it all. Never disrespect the progress of a baby step! Think about how plants grow. They soak up the sun rays and keep reaching for the sky no matter what; they adapt to obstacles and obstructions no matter what; they grow no matter what! When you have the drive of a plant, you too with thrive, no matter what.
You're probably saying, "But I'm not a plant though. I got other things to worry about..." I do understand not everyone's path is the same, but realize that if you're not working towards growing, you're slowly fading away. Until next time, keep moving and grooving forward toward your greatness!!
